List of Conjunctive Adverbs and their example sentences

After writing the sentence structures, I have had my own target to gather conjunctions altogether as many as I can with their example sentences. As we know that the conjunctions connect words, phrases and clauses together to make the communications smoothly and clearly. And this is why I would like to present the conjunctions next to the sentence structures.

There are several conjunction types : Coordinating Conjunctions, Conjunctive Adverbs, Correlative Conjunctions and Subordinate Conjunctions. But the first type of conjunctions on this post is the conjunctive adverb and you can see how many the conjunctive adverbs there are.


What is a Conjunctive adverb?

A Conjunctive adverb is an adverb to connect ideas so as to smooth the transition from one idea to another. 
(In the certain situation, the Conjunctive adverb can connect two clauses in the compound sentence. But the semicolon and the comma are used before and after the conjunctive adverb respectively.)

Conjunctive adverbs and their functions in the sentences

Accordingly1, Consequently2, Therefore3, As a result4, Thus5, Hence6

Sawai is a thief and ought to be treated accordingly.
The joke backfired and the relationship consequently deteriorated.
Somsri had a bad cold, and therefore could not go to school.
Somsri had a bad cold. As a result, she could not go to school.

I lent him money before, and he never paid it back; hence to lend him more is my reluctance.

In comparison is used to compare the similarity while In contrast is used to tell the conflict or the difference.

Comparatively is normally used as Comparatively Speaking.
All wish to possess knowledge, but few, comparatively speaking, are willing to pay the price.
